Brett is a native Californian born in the San Francisco Bay area. Educated in Culinary Arts at Canada College and Business Administration at San Francisco State – Started working on college campuses in 1969 and has worked at schools throughout the west, including Colorado College, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Bakersfield, UC Santa Cruz, Stanford University, Cal State L.A., Cate School and Cal Lutheran University – He resides with his wife in Lake Arrowhead.


Involved in campus dining for 22 great years. 17 years in Residential Dining at UC Irvine and Pomona College in Claremont. Have also provided management support, merchandising and culinary program training from New Mexico to San Francisco. Have provided ServeSafe certification training to dozens of foodservice people. Purchasing Manager/Systems Administrator for 3 years for Cal Poly Pomona Foundation Dining Services 2001–2004.
Patrick has lived in The OC for 38 years and still enjoys living close to the ocean. He has a strong passion for Campus Dining, especially Residential. According to him, “there is no other industry that is more challenging, rewarding, exciting and ever changing”.


Attended Mount San Antonio Community College as a Hotel/Motel Administration Management major – Executive Chef for 24 years working in 4 and 5 Star Diamond Award establishments including Industry Hills Sheraton and Water Grill in downtown Los Angeles – Currently resides in Walnut and enjoys windsurfing, hiking, bicycling and tending his koi fishpond – One of his favorite specialties is Roasted Chilean Sea Bass on a Bed of Spinach, served with Rissolé Potatoes and Tomato Chardonnay Sauce.

James Dial is a Cal Poly alumni and a graduate of the Collins School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. He has a broad range of leading edge restaurant industry (Marie Callender’s, Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus and Islands) management experience. His primary responsibility is Campus Catering but will also have a real impact on the ambience of our residential dining. His wife Brenda is also an alum and works for the College of the Extended University. James is very excited about bringing his skills back to his alma mater.

Attended Pasadena City College, Mount SAC Community College and Chaffey Community College – Has worked at Cal Poly Pomona since 1987. Enjoys reading, puzzles, professional football, drag racing and boxing – Spends quality time with grandsons.


Graduated from Mount Sac Community College in Commercial Art, Cal Poly Pomona College of the Extended University – Fourteen years at Vons as cashier and Service Deli Manager – Enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, walking, watching her children play sports, reading, camping and talking with her sisters.

Bob has worked 17 years in food service, 10 years as a manager in various restaurants, then 5 1/2 years as a sales representative for Foothill Beverage Company before coming to Cal Poly Pomona Foundation – He enjoys spending time with his family and likes all sports especially football and baseball – He likes listening to classic rock n roll and enjoys watching movies – He is very pleased to be working at Cal Poly Pomona!

Attended Mt. SAC and Citrus College and has been in the F&B industry since 1981 with company's such as Jack in the Box, Bakers Square, worked Special Events for 12 years at the LA County Fair Grounds Pomona, and prior to coming to Cal Poly she was F&B Manager for Ontario Holiday Inn – Debbie has been with the Foundation and Kellogg West Dining Services for 10 years. Spends time with family and enjoys sports and music and has been in a band with her husband for over 20 years. They love donating their time for Special Olympic Events.
